Song lyric analysis

'Flowers in your hair'

When we were younger
We thought everyone was on our side
Then we grew a little
And romanticized the time I saw
Flowers in your hair
Takes a boy to live
Takes a man to pretend he was there

So then we grew a little and knew a lot
And now we demonstrated it to the cops
And all the things we said
We were self assured

'Cause it's a long road to wisdom
It's a short one

To being ignored

Be in my eyes
Be in my heart
By in my eyes, eyeyeye
Be in my heart

So now I think that I could

love you back
And I hope its not too late 'Cause you're so attractive
And the way you move
I won't close my eyes
It takes a man to live
It takes a woman to make him compromise

Be in my eyes
Be in my heart
Be in my eyes, eyeyeye
Be in my heart

As children thought people were backing their idea.

Reminiscing about his childhood and remembering that someone wore flowers in their hair.

Regretting not doing anything and pretending he did when he thinks back.

Rebelling to show people they know what they're doing.

Telling their selves they can do it, show it to the cops through graffiti maybe.

With age comes knowledge or even it has taken a long time to realise he loves her.

This could then be referred to the younger you are the less notice people take or it takes a short time to hide his love.

She loved him, but he was too young and immature to realise he loved her back and is now regretting it.

He wont miss a second of his life because if not he might miss another chance of loving her.

He needs that woman to make him become a man and realise he loves her.

Overall I think this song is about a man who was close to someone in his early years. However, he didn't realise this until overtime realised he missed her, but it was too late. Therefore, we will think about showing the mans life in our music video from different stages.
