Semiotics:

Within all music videos, semiotics are found. Discovered by Saussure, semiotics are seen as the interpretation of what is going on in the music video. To understand the full messgae encoded in the video we use things such as, signs and signifiers. These two things add up to from a semiotic. The sign is something that can be interpreted as having a meaning and the signifier is the message encoded in the sign.
