
How my ideas changed

Compared to my initial magazine plan, my final magazine advert is slightly different.


With help from my focus group as well as my own decision making, my final magazine advert changed. The first change I made was adding contact information and social media links onto the advert. This was heavily suggested in the focus group, therefore I added it in. I decided to add the website of the band at the bottom of the advert because then not only am I advertising the latest product, but I am also advertising past and future products. This is because on the website all the Lumineers products are advertised as well as their latest news. This then helps create popularity because the audience begin to go onto the website to gather the latest information.I added the social media logos on the bottom of the advert because it shows the audience that they can talk about the product on the following social medias. This then creates a buzz around the product and hopefully increases the sales.

One other thing that was suggested to me by the focus group was adding in more reviews. To continue with the simplistic style of the advert, to conform to indie folk conventions, I only added one extra review. This meant that I could continue in the design of a simple advert, but also give the focus group what they wanted.

One other thing that was suggested from the focus group was the addition of the bold shape around the featuring singles. This now makes it stand out more , which attracts the audience in. This might increase sales because if the audience have heard of one of the singles, then might be interested in buying the album.
