Font comparison
Before choosing my final font and colouring, I have decided to compare all three. All three ideas have encoded messages in them, however some of the titles I believe do not conform to the conventions of a typical indie-folk digipak and magazine article. Despite having some very important messages encoded in the coloring red and black, I don't believe that the two put together resembles an indie-folk promotional title. This is because when you look at other famous indie-folk digipaks, such as 'The Lumineers' and 'Mumford & Sons they have quite simple and cheerful colouring, therefore designing a font that looks more suited for a horror movie doesn't conform to the usual conventions. This would mean that the audience wouldn't know it was an indie-folk album just by looking at it.

Another convention of a typical indie-folk promotional product would be the contrast between the font colour and background colour. I believe all three of my ideas do this, which helps conform to the usual conventions. The idea that contrasts the most in my opinion is the black and white font. This is because in one idea, the red font doesn't stand out as much as the black font. However, the black and white font could look very similar to other indie-folk digipak and magazine adverts, so people might walk by my product because they think it is a different artists digipak.

Overall, I feel that despite it may having some issues with it being very similar to other font titles, the title with black font and white background is my final font. This is because the simplistic style and colouring encodes the most suitable message for my song. I also think that it contrasts the best, and from my research I know is a big convention in indie-folk promotional products. Therefore, from all the conventions I feel the font conforms to, it is the best font to choose. It will also help audiences know that it is indie-folk, so may help with sales.
