Favorite music videos

To try and get some inspiration for ideas when it comes to planning our music video, I have decided to pick my 5 favourite videos and analyse them. This may give me some ideas for my video.
1. Kodaline- 'High Hopes'

From looking at the music video I infer that the narrative behind the video is a woman has left her partner at her wedding after being continuously abused throughout her relationship. As this is happening, a man has also had enough of something and is attempting suicide. It happens that the man notices the stressed woman and decides to drive her somewhere safe - his home. The two then begin to enjoy each others company and start to have feelings for each other. They then enjoy a day at the beach before the man who was left at the alter by the abused woman shoots both the man and woman. At the end of the video we then see the man in hospital on his own before being greeted by the woman he saved and began to have feelings for.
I admire this video a lot because I feel that is has a very nice message encoded into it alongside a very nice narrative. The video is a lot about love, which is similar to the song we have chosen. Therefore, I need to take into account the feelings created when watching this and try to add that to my video.
2. Vance Joy- 'Riptide'

Goodwin's theory of the lyrics in the song, matching what we see as an audience in the video is shown very clearly in this video. The simplicity of the video makes it one of my favourite because despite no narrative to the video keeps to the songs upbeat rhythm. Therefore, this makes it one of my favourites as it keeps you interacted with the video.
The main thing I will be taking from this is the use of Goodwin's theory and how simple you can make a video, but still intriguing.
3. James TW - 'When You Love Someone'

This music video makes it into my top 5 because once again, just like 'High Hopes' the narrative in the story is very good. I believe that the narrative behind the video is that a pair of children's parents have split up, however due to one of them being fairly young explaining it is more difficult than expected. Throughout the video we can see the life of the children and the problems the parents are causing for them.
4. Of Monsters And Men - 'Little Talks'

I admire this music video because unlike most music videos these days, the band who sing the song don't actually feature in the video as humans. The whole video itself is a cartoon like video with illustrations. This is the main reason for me admiring the video because they haven't taken the usual conventions of a music video they've used their own. The thing I will take from this video is the fact they they've have used something different, so maybe when it comes to planning our own video, we might go down this route instead of the other conventions.
5. Coldplay - ' The Scientist'

I admire this music video because it was one of the first music videos to incorporate a reverse movement into the video. It begins with the lead singer, Chris Martin step off a mattress before walking backwards through the street. The thing I will take from this is that as a group we don't have to follow other artists we can create our own music video without following conventions.
