Digipak conventions

Conventions of digipaks:

The first convention of a digipak is the that it is created in a book-style or also known as gatefold. The inside of this is usually then lined with a plastic sheeting, which can be used to hold the product. There is then a sleeve made our of either plastic or cardboard that the digipak slides into. This sleeve is commonly the same design as the front of the digipak.

The front of the digipak is usually is a close-up of the artist enlarged to cover the whole front. As well as this the album title will be presented clearly to show the audience the product name. The artist name will also be showed clearly on the front, to advertise their name and make it known throughout the music industry.
The back of the digipak will commonly also have a picture of the artist. As well as this a tracklist of the album songs will appear in chronological order. In order to purchase the product, a barcode is needed. This will be found on the back of the digipak, usually in one of the bottom corners. Information about the artist will also be on the back, to give the audience an insight into the artist. There will also be information about the record label and even a logo because the record label are trying to get as popular as possible to get known and hopefully attract more of an audience and also other artists.
