Costume planning

In our costume analysis, we decided that the costume colours used were neutral colours, such as browns and beige. Therefore, most of our costumes will be in these colours.

Male clothing:

When analysing clothing in indie-folk music videos, but especially 'The Lumineers', I can see that black jeans are very common. Therefore, black jeans will be involved in our costume design. This will mean that we will be conforming to conventions of typical indie-folk videos.
When looking at costume analysis, I noticed that the costume colours were very natural and neutral to match the colours of the location. Therefore, most of the colours that will be used are going to be this colour. One idea we have is a brown jacket as this specific piece of clothing is commonly seen in the countryside. One other male member will wear a dark green coat because just like the browns, green is a colour associated with leaves and the countryside.
One other thing I noticed is that sometimes a fedora is worn by indie-folk artists. Therefore, an idea that we have is to maybe use a fedora within the music video.

Female clothing:

When we researched into different factors our target audience wanted, one big thing that came back was that they wanted 3 people in the video. We inferred that this is because The Lumineers have three members, two males and one female. Therefore, we need to plan for our female. One idea that we have planned is for our female to wear flowers in her hair. This is to match the Goodwin's theory of the shots matching the lyrics of the song.
She will also wear tights because this is mainly what the female in The Lumineers, Neyla Pekarek wears. When analysing indie-folk clothing, we could see that denim was a big factor in the clothing. Therefore, our female will wear denim shorts. She will also wear a patterned shirt over the top of a white blouse. The patterned shirt indicates the indie-folk genre as we believe the pattern is something you would see in the countryside.
